Burton aimed to create a "believable, touchably soft" look to compliment the romanticism of the designs of the dresses. The dresses were a combination of pale pinks and creams with delicate florals and metallic sheens stitched into the fabric. This was combined with a tattered lace decor around the neck and cuffs. This in turn with the use of a wooden floral painted clog sandal creates a historically ethereal look that is both beautifully lightweight and sensual. Personal referencing to Burton's heritage of country life and attraction to floral elements supplied the pedestal on which the dresses historical influence was taken. 17th century silk weavers who fled persecution in France and came to Britain in search of refuge began to produce fabrics that enabled dresses of a similar styling to be created. Thus Burton's costuming influence. These references back back to McQueen's passion for British heritage and history are a theme continued within the brands latest collection.
Makeup designs were created by makeup artist Lucia Pierogi who valued the romantic aspect of the look. "Bohemian elegance, a radiant rawness" was the forefront of this design. Flushed cheeks and glowing skin was achieved through the use of Cle de Peau Beaute cream blush and MAC's iconic strobe cream. This in combination created a wind kissed, warm pink complexion.
Guido Palau aimed for a similarly "touchable and womanly" look within regards to the hair design, aiming to produce a slept in romantic hairstyle that embodied a similar Victorian romanticism. The hair was put into roughed up tails and braids which were sprayed with Redlun Windblown Spray and gathered into knots and swirls with a needle and thread. Ruches of hair like that of mis-stitched silk fabric were created through gathering the hair into knot like swirls using a needle and thread. This look could also be created through the use of hairspray and pulling back on a strip of hair to create texture. This was then also enhanced with the use of a light gold flake to add an ornate element to the look.
